Back To Belle-Motte!

My friend Etienne and I had previously sampled the sounds of Belle-Motte manor, an old property that has belonged to his family for many generations. Our first sampling session took place over a quiet day and night, early in 2020. You can listen to those haunting sounds on our Old Mansion page.

Because the weather was too calm on that first recording visit, we had no chance to record the timbers creaking when the wind blew outside. When we heard on the news that Storm Ciara would pass over Belgium, we knew it would provide all the sounds that we were looking for. So we braved the stormy weather and went to find refuge in Belle-Motte.

Hear the wind blowing; hitting the windows, but also finding passages between the rooms, howling through the gaps around the doors. Picture the old house as it originally was, without electricity, lit only by candlelight. Now, imagine the butler making his rounds, checking that the property is standing firm against the storm...

I am writing a novel, with much of the plot set in an abandoned factory that has been converted to an artist housing project. Somehow this is the perfect background noise to mentally get into that space when I sit down to write - thank you so much for creating and providing this!

Gawd, I love this! My bedroom used to be up in the attic when I was a teenager. Living in The Netherlands, there's always plenty of wind to go around. So this brings back cozy memories of hearing the autumn storms raging outside and being curled up under the blankets (with or without a book) inside.

This generator is so calming! It helps me study for finals. I pair this up with tin roof rain on animate and it does the job for me! :]

I like to mix this one with "Cosy Rain" and a bit of white noise. It's soothing and makes me feel safe.

Delightful when played with Medieval Library! (Delightful on it's own, too, of course. ;))

This is weirdly specific but when I was young I was homeless because I had to flee from my abuser. Instead of getting abducted by weird creeps a very lovely punker took me with him to a semi-legal bar. Not to drink but because they sheltered homeless youth. The house was very old and we slept in the attic. It sounded like this. This reminded me of the first night I didn't need to fear my dad.

I used to be able to hear the wind howling in the eaves like that in my old room but since I've moved upstairs I can't hear it. I absolutely love that sound!!! Paired with Artic Wolves (bonfire setting up higher) it's amazing... Makes me feel so safe and cozy like I am snuggled up in my sturdy little cabin and letting the wind and the wolves howl :)

It's Monday, and it's been difficult to focus. I've gotten more done in the past hour than in the previous three, with this generator set to slider animation. Plus it's oddly cozy.

This one finally has the type of rain sound I have been wanting to hear. Going to use it in all my custom gens from now on.

I grew up in a windy island of the Aegean, this sound brings back a part of me. It's the one that helps me concentrate the most.

Absolutely lovely! A new favorite... Thanks for this...

Without the howling, it's quite cozy.

Superb! Reminds me the attic at the grandparents home! It was a big area, old, wooden, with spider webs, old things, a tree was growing nearby and during storms sounded alike! Thanks!

It feels very real. I'm trapped inside this hollow wooden place. The air pressure of the window winds make me shiver, as I feel the howling winds in my stomach... seriously!

  Another winner. Thank you!

I finished my homework faster than ever before because of this site.

Windy Mansion on animate is amazing. Layered with Poltergeist RPG on animate, it's exactly what my brain needs to sink deep into the atmosphere of the young adult horror novel I'm writing. Warning: prepare yourself to get scared out of your wits if someone walks up behind you while you have headphones on! Thank you for another fantastic generator!

A beautiful storm in a haunted manor. Very spooky and good for making homework more interesting.
